This month’s reward explores control and surrender. Are we in control, or are we being controlled? Can we resist the input, or do we surrender to the beat? It features a humanoid robot connected by two data cables and caught between control and independence.

You get seven VJ loops and a Resolume project, with the original loops pre-applied with effects, plus background shape layers that let you mix and match elements based on the intensity of the music.

Creation Process
TrueSkin started from a 3D character model. Still images of the model were used as reference and fed into Nano Banana Pro, where the frames were generated. These frames were then animated in Kling AI.
The animations were upscaled and interpolated in Topaz Video to 4K at 60 fps, then time-remapped in After Effects to fit 120 BPM, using 8, 16, and 32-second loop lengths.
Resolume Arena Project
Inside the Resolume project, you’ll find the original loops alongside variations trimmed and enhanced with effects. The robot is intentionally lit from behind, so it can sit naturally on top of any “light source” background. Color the background red, or color the robot in the background color, and it will read as part of the same lighting environment, illuminating the figure from behind.
To get you started, I included a background layer made of shapes inside Resolume. Some of these shapes are audio-reactive and bounce to the beat. Try triggering the robot layer and switching between the different background shapes to find combinations that work for your set. From there, add your own loops as backgrounds/foregrounds and see how the robot integrates into different scenes.
Final Thoughts
Nano Banana Pro can be directed to generate strong character poses from reference images. At that point, imagination becomes the main limiting factor in what can be created.
