FluoPunk II VJ Loops

•• Update: This reward is now available on the Patreon Shop ••

This month’s reward expands the FluoPunk theme, featuring a new cyberpunk character in the same fluorescent, techwear-driven style, along with new overlay loops.

Available On Patreon

Character and overlay loops can be cloned and layered to create fun mixes and a more colorful, graphic-driven look.

Seven VJ loops + a Resolume project, already arranged into columns so you can drop straight in. Available in FHD (1080p) and 4K (2160p) until May 31st, 2026.

Creation Process

FluoPunk II started as images generated in Midjourney, then edited in Nano Banana to create start and end frames. These frames were taken into After Effects and, using the Mask Prompter plugin, the character was isolated and placed on a clean greenscreen chroma key background. The start and end frames were then animated in Kling 3.0 and Seedance 2.0.

Two issues came up during this stage. Kling 3.0 introduced artifacts and smeared frames when the character moved quickly, which caused issues later while chroma keying. Seedance didn’t always respect the start and end frames, so I had to reinforce them with additional prompts. It also introduced dropped frames, which I was able to fix during interpolation in Topaz Video using “Replace Dropped Frames” with sensitivity set to 80%.

The animations were upscaled and interpolated in Topaz Astra to 4K at 60 fps, then time-remapped in After Effects to fit 120 BPM. The greenscreen was removed using Keylight v1.2, and the two graphic loops were created using animated text presets.

Resolume Arena Project

For this project, I reworked the same foundation from the previous FluoPunk set, but pushed it further with new graphic elements. The overlay loops were first broken down into smaller parts, then rebuilt using cloners to form flexible background structures. Additional motion came from effects like Twitch, Transform, and Slide.

The character loops were then placed between these graphic layers, allowing them to sit both in front of and behind the overlays. Using Transform to offset their position, combined with Horizontal Mirror, made it possible to create side figures and expand the composition outward. These were tested alongside centered versions of the character to find combinations that have visual appeal.

Cloners were applied to the character to generate more variations, with random playback added in places to introduce instability and variation.

Hue Rotate was used to sketch out different color directions and suggest how the palette can evolve during a set.

Some graphic elements were left unused – the overlay loops already offered a wide range of combinations, and not everything needed to be pushed into the final deck.

Final Thoughts

This iteration expands on the original FluoPunk set with additional graphic elements and more variation. The overlays open up more layering possibilities, allowing longer mixes built around shifting graphic structures and character interactions.
