This month’s reward features a mysterious tribal figure covered in glowing symbols, performing an ancient ceremonial dance. Her devotional movements and the glyphs across her body create a hypnotic atmosphere that gradually grows more powerful and energetic.

The four character loops depict her in different ritual states, and the Glyphs loop can be composited at the back or at the front. All loop have transparent background making it easy to compose the character and glyphs in creative ways.

Five VJ loops + a Resolume project, arranged into columns and ready for mixing. Available in FHD (1080p) and 4K (2160p) until September 30, 2026.

Creation Process

Back to characters, my favorite and most challenging subject. This look was inspired by a post I saw on Instagram of a woman with chalk symbols all over her body.

The character’s master shot was generated in Nano Banana Pro. From that master shot, I generated a character reference sheet on a gray background, with closeup and half-body shots of the character, as well as closeups of her jewelry. I then generated start frames with the character in different poses on a blue chromakey background.

The animation was generated in Seedance 2.0 at 720p, 24fps. I started with a start frame and asked it to loop the animation within the prompt, so that at second 12 to 13 the animation would start again from the same frame. It mostly worked.

I wanted to have similar glyphs in the character’s background and foreground, so I prompted Nano Banana Pro to create four glyphs in one image, inspired by the glyphs on the character and using her as a reference, on a blue chromakey background. I then chose the eight glyphs I liked the most and cropped and aligned them in After Effects so they were centered.

The animation was generated in Kling 3.0 at 1080p, 24fps, with a prompt asking it to break the starting glyph into dust and then draw in the ending glyph. Once I had eight successful clips, I chained them together in Premiere, trimmed the static parts, and speed-ramped them to create a continuous flow.

The animations were then upscaled to 4K in Topaz Astra before being time-remapped in After Effects to fit 120 BPM at 30fps. I removed the chroma key from the character and glyphs in After Effects using Keylight v1.2.

Resolume Arena Project

I started by laying the four character loops over the Glyphs element as a background. The four character loops have different vibes, from calm to full-on, so I added light flashes using the Levels effect and random playback so they would cut on the beat.

I then scaled down and duplicated the characters to create a main character in front, with two smaller characters further back. Next, I applied the Linear Cloner effect and used only its time-delay feature to create echoes of the character.

The interesting part here was using the Darken blending mode at 50% opacity. This allowed the character’s echoes to show through the dark parts of the other echoes, resulting in a hypnotic look.

I then tried placing the Glyphs loop in front of the character, so the character would appear through the glyphs.

Closing the deck are some colorizing options to give you some inspiration and remind you that the loops are raw material that can be changed and adapted to whatever you need.

Final Thoughts

I started creating Athra two months ago, but because Seedance 2.0 was reluctant to use my start and end frames exactly as I wanted, I had to put it on hold.

That’s what eventually made me come up with a way to loop the video directly within the prompt itself. It wasn’t perfect, but it worked well enough to bring Athra back to life.

Never lose hope.
